Tessy Plastics

Tessy has seen a tremendous amount of growth since 1973 and we are proud to have been their partner in bringing their vision to life.

The VIP team first engaged with Tessy in 1999 to design and construct a new 40,000 SF building to accommodate increased manufacturing needs.

engineering

The energy-conserving technologies used led to approximately $900,000 in recaptured construction cost through rebates from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

construction

Since 2000, we constructed over 388,003 SF for Tessy Plastics.

Project Details

Delivery Method:  Design-Build
Owner:  Tessy Plastics
Total Size:  428,003 SF

Tessy Plastics Corporation, a leading global contract manufacturer, gives shape to their clients’ ideas, from products for a medical device supplier to consumer goods for Fortune 100 companies. Tessy has seen a tremendous amount of growth since 1973 and VIP Structures is proud to have been their partner in bringing their vision to life.

We were first engaged with Tessy in 1999 to design and construct a new 40,000 SF building to accommodate increased manufacturing needs. Shortly thereafter, we went to work on a 14,000 SF addition to one of their existing buildings. Between 2002 and 2008 we designed and constructed over 180,000 SF of distribution and manufacturing space. These expansions took into account Tessy Plastics’ diverse clientele, from incorporating manual assembly lines to fully automated clean room environments. In 2010 our team worked on a 93,000 SF manufacturing building, which we added onto in 2013 with a 99,800 SF warehouse/distribution facility.

Tessy Plastics is committed to innovation and as their business evolves, so have the solutions that VIP Structures provides. Our in-house engineering division assessed the facility’s HVAC needs with an eye towards creating greater operating efficiency and reducing cost. In addition, efficiencies were realized with the magnet-bearing frictionless centrifugal chiller, digital control system, water-cooled air compressors and high-efficiency condensing boilers for dehumidification control to improve manufacturing efficiencies. These energy-conserving technologies led to approximately $900,000 in recaptured construction cost through rebates from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
